Coqui Nation is a non-profit born out of necessity. September 20, 2017 changed the island and the people of Puerto Rico. At day 101, the water that is accessible is stil not potable. At least 50% of the island is without power, real power. We cannot include generators as that is not true power. Many have fled their homeland, and those that remain live in the unknown. Will they get power befor the next hurricane season begins, will roads be stabilized, will they be able to have clean water from their tap in 2018? Does this sound like it is normal, where it should be at almost 4 months post hurricane? It is a U.S. Territory afterall. We cannot close our eyes and pretend things are OK, they are not. We must stand up, and do what is right. Why me? How about Why not me. Providing aid in person is not for everyone, but providing aid so others can go in person and give it is.
